DAN Oxygen Provider Course...

Course Description...

The DAN O2 Provider course is designed to train people in the proper usage and administration of oxygen in scuba diving related injuries. The course focuses on the benefits of oxygen treatment for scuba diving related injuries as well has familiarizing the student with handling oxygen equipment and administering it to the victim of a diving related injury. This course is an excellent addition to an existing first aid / CPR certification.

Who Can Take the Course...

This course is open to anyone age 18 and older. (NOT JUST Penn State students and faculty!)

You must be a certified scuba diver with a certification card from a recognized scuba certifying agency.

How Much Does the Course Cost...

The cost of the course is $60.00 (Course costs are subject to change without notice.)

The cost of the course includes all equipment, instructor, and certification fees.

The cost of the course can be refunded if you do not attend. Once you start the course, no refund will be issued.

Where, When, and How Long is the Course...

This course is run occationally throughout the year as interest warrants. The course is run on a weeknight or weekend depending on the availablity of an instructor and takes about four hours to complete.

What Will I Be Learning...

The DAN O2 Provider course covers the safe handling, usage, and administration of oxygen to victims of scuba diving related injuries. You will learn how to identify scuba diving related injuries in which oxygen will help the victim. You will learn why oxygen administration to scuba diving accident victims is beneficial and important. Proper handling of oxygen equipment will be covered along with giving you an opportunity to handle, assemble, and disassemble the equipment.

Consult our list of upcoming courses. When you see this course listed, there will be an "enroll" link so you can sign up online. Payment instructions will be included with your online enrollment.

Once we receive your check, someone will send you an e-mail confirmation to let you know we received the check and give you any additional information you may need about the course. You are not officially enrolled in the course until you receive this confirmation!

Refunds:

There is a $20 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit required to sign up for the course. The remaining cost of the course can be refunded if you do not attend. Once you start the course, no refund will be issued. For other situations and conditions see the section above on "How Much Does the Course Cost..."
