First Aid / CPR Course...Course Description...Promoting safety and safe diving is an important goal of the Nittany Divers. One of the ways we do this is by promoting and offering first aid, CPR, and AED training at low cost to our members. We work with local Red Cross certified instructors to offer these courses to our members several times a year, typically in conjunction with our Scuba Rescue Diver course. We typically offer the CPR for the Professional Rescuer version of the CPR course which includes one and two person CPR skills. Current First Aid / CPR certification is required for the Scuba Rescue Diver, Training Assistant, Assistant Instructor, and Dive Master courses. Who Can Take the Course...This course is open to anyone age 18 and older. (NOT JUST Penn State students and faculty!) This course is open to anyone wanting First Aid / CPR / AED training. Club members will be given first priority when signing up, but others are welcome to participate if there is room in the course. How Much Does the Course Cost...The cost of the course is typically subsidized in part by the club and costs around $30.00 after the subsidy. (Course costs are subject to change without notice.) The cost of the course includes all instructor and certification fees.
