About Us...

Who are the Nittany Divers?

We are a club at Penn State University, and our membership consists of students, University employees, and other community members... all are welcome to join! Everyone shares a common interest in scuba diving, snorkeling, or the undersea world in general. We meet twice a month to discuss upcoming trips, new diving practices, refresh safety skills and share personal experiences.

We offer the opportunity to participate in an exciting sport within an environment of safety and fun. We support the expansion of scuba by conducting courses such as basic scuba diving, advanced scuba diving, scuba rescue skills, and various other specialty courses. Dive trips are planned to local quarries, lakes, and rivers, in addition to more inviting destinations such as Lake Erie, North Carolina, and Key West. We also engage in many other fun and exciting social events throughout the year.

Can I Learn to Scuba Dive?

YES!!! The club offers an introductory scuba course every semester (Spring, Summer, and Fall). The course runs for four or eight weeks and meets either once or twice a week depending on the length of the course.

How Do I Find Out What's Going On?

For general club information e-mail the secretary.
Our online calendar lists upcoming events, dives, social events, and courses.
Join our e-mail listserv which is used to announce events and discuss diving. To join, subscribe online.
Attend a club meeting! Check our home page for the date, time, and location of the next meeting.

Joining the Club

Becoming a member of the club is a very simple three step process as outlined below:

Download, fill out, and print the club's membership form (PDF).
Download, fill out, print, and sign the Club Sports Waiver (PDF). You MUST have health insurance to be a member of the club.
Bring these two forms along with your membership dues payment to a club meeting or gear rental appointment. Dues are $10 per semester (Spring, Summer, Fall) or $25 per year.
